Salient Features of Indian Geography

Hi all. This is the second post on Indian geography. In this post, I shall discuss some salient features on Indian geography. You can memorize the important points by having a glance. This is quite important for preparation of Govt. job examinations. Area - 3,287,263 sq km. The Tropic of Cancer passes through the middle of India. India is part of the large continental land mass of Eurasia . India extends from latitude 8 degree 4 minute North to 37 degree 6 minute North . India contains about one-sixth of the total population of the world. India is located on the world's major sea routes . India has 29 states and 7 Union Territories .
